Dr. Long was the Chairman of First City Monument Bank Plc from 2005 to 2013. Prior to becoming Chairman, he was the Managing Director of the bank from 1987 to 2005 and, before that, Deputy Managing Director between 1985 and 1987. He holds a BA and MA (1970) from Balliol College and a D. Phil (1973) from St. Antony’s College, Oxford.
He has over twenty seven years banking experience, having worked in banks in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Nigeria. He began his banking career with William & Glyn’s Bank Limited in 1973 and then joined Charterhouse Japhet Limited in London as a Manager, Corporate Finance, in 1976. He was appointed General Manager of the bank’s Swiss investment management subsidiary, Charterhouse Japhet (Suisse) S.A, based in Geneva, in 1979 and an Assistant Director of the London bank in 1981. He later established the operations of Standard Chartered Bank Plc in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1982, before joining First City Merchant Bank Limited in Lagos in 1985.
In addition to being the Managing Director of the bank, as Head of the then Corporate Finance Department (now FCMB Capital Markets Limited), Dr. Long also led numerous project teams advising the Nigerian Government, major multinational companies and large local corporate institutions on major financial transactions. He has subsequently acted as project director on all the innovative assignments handled by the bank’s wholly-owned subsidiary, FCMB Capital Markets Limited, where he is now the Executive Vice-Chairman.
Tolu Osinibi has over 20 years investment banking, asset management and consulting experience in Nigeria and Europe. He joined FCMB Capital Markets as Head, Investment Banking, and subsequently, Executive Director having previously worked for KPMG Professional Services from 2006 to 2010 as Associate Director and Head – Corporate/Infrastructure Finance Advisory. Prior to that, He worked at Shell Nigeria Closed Pension Fund Administrator as Chief Investment Officer and Member, Investment Committee. He spent 5 years at JP Morgan, London, where he left as a Vice President. Prior to that, he was at KPMG, London, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Tolu Osinibi holds a B.Sc. Degree in Economics from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. He has led numerous project teams advising the Nigerian Government, major multinational clients and large local corporate institutions on major financial transactions.
Robert Grant has over 15 years investment banking and consulting experience. He joined FCMB Capital Markets as a Vice President in 2012 having previously spent 5 years at for FCMB Plc. Prior to that, he was the acting CFO of Ghana Telecom from 2003 to 2006 and he was a director at Lucent Technologies between 1999 and 2002 and a Vice President at TD Securities from 1995 to 1999. He has been a team leader on the successful execution of numerous project and structured finance deals in the power, oil & gas and telecommunications sectors.
Robert holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business, New York, NY and a BS, Accounting from Hayward State University, Hayward, CA.
